BIg Girl Panties!

Just finished recovering from a very busy weekend. We took our youth group to EnFuego[ an ALL DAY OUTDOOR concert]. Oh yea, it was 112 degrees outside. Good times! =)

I slept most of yesterday away despite the fact that the girls were all over the place.
Today I am feeling pretty much up to par and we are doing a new potty experiment.

Since the beginning of this year Anna has been using the "potty" off and on. We were making real progress until summer hit. We were going non-stop this summer between youth camp, VBS, and mission trip. Needless to say when you are on the go with a 2 year old using the potty is put to the  way side.

Now that we are back to normal and on somewhat of a schedule we have picked back up on the potty training. It is kinda frustrating that Anna knows when she has to pee and poopie but still just goes in the diaper.

Let me introduce you to our new potty experiment. We made a late trip to Walmart yesterday and I bought Anna some new "big girl panties". They are just the right size for the tiny hiney, and Dora of course!
She is very excited about her Dora panties and is making instant progress. We have successfully kept Dora dry and clean all morning =).
I'm sure I will have updates on this method soon.

EXTRA, EXTRA....READ ALL ABOUT IT!

Today is the day.
The day that will soon lead to the rest of my sanity slipping from my grips.
Daughter #2 is now MOBILE!
Watch out Anna, Ansley is on your heels.

About 10 minutes ago I was ecstatic at the new feat my "baby girl" had accomplished. I was so excited for her. However, by the time I clicked the "new post" tab, reality had hit me. I FEEL OLD and kinda helpless. How will I ever keep the house even straightened up with 2...count them ... 1....2 very active girls on the loose.

While I recollect myself, let me run through the events leading up to "THE MOMENT" this morning.

I had just finished sweeping and vacuuming and sat Ansley back in the floor [her favorite place] to play. She has been so close to crawling these past 2 weeks that I decided to try to lure her to me across the living room floor. As I tempted her with my cell phone, she ever so slowly assumed the crawling position and THERE IT WAS. She was so proud of herself. She giggled the whole way to the phone.

So you may be wondering about Anna and her response to this. It was interesting to say at the least. Kind of like when she first saw Ansley in the hospital room after delivery.
*FLASHBACK*
As I lay in the hospital bed, still feeling pretty good from the meds and epidural, Adam and I were admiring our newest family addition. We couldn't decide exactly who she looked most like. I do believe my exact answer was "Well, she looks familiar!" =) Not too much time passed before my mom-in-law[Mimi] came in with Anna on her hip.
We had been talking with Anna about the new baby for several months before delivery and she would also talk about her baby sister. But this moment proved that she didn't completely comprehend the "baby situation". She looked intently at the small bundle in my arms and never said a word. We told her this was Ansley Morgan, her little sister. Mimi asked if she would like to kiss her. Anna, without skipping a beat said yes, but when Mimi leaned down to let her she QUICKLY pulled back as if to say "WHAT ARE YOU DOING AND WHAT IS THAT?"
Now I have mentioned in previous posts how much Anna loves her sister. This love started the day that we came home from the hospital. All the kisses and hugs flowed once we were home.
*End Flashback*
As Ansley began to crawl it was as if Anna was appauled. So what did she do you ask?
 She also crawled!
 She is now ,20 minutes later, very excited about the mobility of her sister. She is letting Ansley chase her ,pretending that she can actually crawl fast enough to catch her. It's cute =).

Just Turn The Channel, Geez!

So it's naptime at our house, and even though both of the girls are sound alseep I still find myself watching the remains of an episode of Bubble Guppies that I have seen 267 times. This happens more often than I like to admit. I find myself drawn into Toy Story for the second time THAT DAY and still have to see how Buzz and Woody make it back to Andy. Am I still that much of a kid or am I just adapting to the fact that the TV is never mine. During the day the lineup consist of either
Bubble Guppies
Dora
Toy Story
Beauty and the Beast
and just a few more of Anna's favorites.
And when husband dearest comes home the lineup is
Sports
News
Sports
and Sports.
I think out of sympathy he sometimes throws in an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond in the evening for me. Come to think of it, if you were to ask what I like to watch I couldn't name anything more than Everybody Loves Raymond and American Idol.[which is seasonal] =)

I do have to admit that those little mer-kids on Bubble Guppies are the cutest little cartoons I think I've ever seen. I am also pretty sure I sing some of those songs in the shower.

Last night we had spagetti. So as soon as the noodles had come to a boil and Anna heard spagetti, she knew the drill. "Shirt off momma!" she exclaimed as the striped down to the diaper to get in her high chair. I fixed the plates we asked the blessing and dug in. About halfway through dinner Anna was quick to get my attention. Apparently she had not paid all that much attention when her dad had prayed before we ate. She then commands me, "Momma close your eyes, Pray!".She's so silly.

Oh I forgot to mention Anna's new independent dressing. Matching is the least of my concern when she comes out in an upsidedown skirt or both legs in one leg hole of her shorts. She actually made it down the hallway the other day with a pajama gown, some polka dot shorts, and some of my shorts on. It was interesting, and it made me smile.

Now that you know enough about me to call me a loon I guess I will get back to cleaning the house before the munchkins wake up and are once again on the move!

Give me Christ or else, I die.

Really felt I needed to share these lyrics before bed.
HERE IS THE VIDEO
http://youtu.be/jUWYy9HwU6g

There is a fountain filled with blood
drawn from Emmanuel's veins;
and sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains,
lose all their guilty stains;
and sinners plunged beneath that flood
lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see
that fountain in his day;
and there may I, though vile as he,
wash all my sins away.
Wash all my sins away,
wash all my sins away;
and there may I, though vile as he,
wash all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, thy precious blood
shall never lose its power
till all the ransomed church of God
be saved, to sin no more.
Be saved, to sin no more,
be saved, to sin no more;
till all the ransomed church of God
be saved, to sin no more.

E'er since, by faith, I saw the stream
thy flowing wounds supply,
redeeming love has been my theme,
and shall be till I die.
And shall be till I die,
and shall be till I die;
redeeming love has been my theme,
and shall be till I die.

when this poor lisping, stammering tongue
lies silent in the grave
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing thy power to save,
I'll sing thy power to save,
I'll sing thy power to save,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,

I'll sing thy power to save.

Getting Started.

Hello.
Welcome to my first blog ever.
I am starting to blog for my future "old self" to remember the little things. I already need reminders for things in the present so I figure this will help and if it doesn't jog my memory then maybe it will keep the family updated and give my girls a laugh as they look back at the craziness of our lives.

Anna is 2 and becoming very independent. She has the whole "I DO IT, MOMMY" menatality.Which ranges from brushing her own teeth to picking up her sister to dance =/. She is moving from sippy cups to regular cups and Mommy and Daddy's bed to her own bed [excuse me while I laugh at the progress of this one].

Ansley is 8 months today and I am still puzzled where the last 7 months went. It was just last week that we were admiring that first laugh of hers, RIGHT? I guess not. Now she is crawling [in her own little wiggly way] all over the place, finding herself caught under the couch several times. =) Her smile is very contagious. It stretches all across her face and deep into her eyes.

I love these 2 girls. They keep me on my toes and laughing almost constantly. Anna loves her little sister very much. I have to say, before Ansley was born I was more worried than I let on, about how Anna would react. I could picture Anna turning "green" with envy and tossing her sister out the back door or worse in the potty. However, loving that little blue eyed baby was just as natural for her as it was for Adam and myself.

Just a couple things before I go. A week or so ago something happened that my mom-in-law told me to write down so I wouldn't forget it. This is what brought about my blogging. Anna has vacuum anxiety. If toys are in the way or she has some shoes just lying around while I am vacuuming she rushes to get them before I can "suck them up". She doesn't exactly get the complete vacuum theory yet. It was a usual morning. Ansley was playing in the floor and Anna was running all over the house playing with her newest fav. toy [a classic Winnie the Pooh, that she refuses to name anything but Teddy Bear]. I picked up Ansley put her in the jumperoo and cleaned up the toys from the livingroom floor and began to vacuum. Anna runs back into the room and begins to weep and shout something over and over again. I turned the vacuum off and asked her what was wrong. She sobbed "Ansley right there" as she pointed to where Ansley had been sitting when she was last in the room. She thought I had sucked Ansley right up in the vacuum. I took her to where her little sister was safe and sound in the jumperoo and she instantly began to calm down. As pitiful as she was I had to laugh. It really showed me how much she does love her sister.

Ok. Enough for now. I needed to get that story down for future reference and perhaps blackmail =).
