Whhhew.
I haven't blogged in a while. It has been so busy and my schedule is going to stay that way for the rest of the year. Yay! [not] =)
This weekend we have a Youth Rally that Adam has been working very hard to organize and plan. The weekend after that will be our annual fall frolics with our church complete with boiled peanuts, great food, hayrides, volleyball and a bonfire. The week of Thanksgiving we are venturing back to our hometown to see my family and then Adam's dad.
When we come back we will be meeting a "new" member of the family....and no, nobody is having a baby..[this year]! haha
Lucy, well her name is actually Lizzie, but that is a long story, will be moving in with my mother-in-law "Mimi" right before Thanksgiving. Lucy is 25, I think ,and God has opened up the opportunity for Mimi to take her in to be part of our family. Lucy's mother passed away a year ago leaving her with no family. So she will be joining our family on Nov. 18th. We haven't met her yet but are looking forward to it!
And of course December is ALWAYS a busy month. Youth Christmas party, Associational Christmas party, Ansley's 1st birthday party, and of course CHRISTMAS!
Adam approved me putting the Christmas tree up but not until after the 5th. You may think that's early but we didn't have a tree for the first 2 years of our marriage so I put it up early last year and I enjoyed it so I think I will put it up early again.;)
We attended a fall festival last night and Anna had a blast. Bouncy houses, face paint, candy, games, cake walks, candy, time with her cousins, a big slide, and candy!
What was my favorite part?
I'm glad you asked.
Anna with about 6 other super sugar filled children were piled in the bouncy house. As Anna made her way to the side she shouts through the crowd of parents, who are all in hopes that all this bouncing will drain all the extra candy energy from their child so that bedtime might be reasonable,
"Daddy! You're a princess!"
He had forgotten he had placed Anna's crown on his hat earlier.
It was a good laugh.
I've been feeling artsy lately so I have taken several pictures and even made some door decor out of a pizza pan. I felt so accomplished and thrifty.
Time to go Anna is jumping like a bean behind me on the couch and Ansley just pulled out the computer cord and thinks it's a good snack.

Angry Birds!!!
[to the tune of Hey There Delilah]
Hey there dear Angry Birds
What's it like to be so angry
Flying through the air trying to kill all of those green piggys
It's what you do..You know it's true
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me
Hey there dear Angry Birds
Why do you make me so angry
Flying through the air not knocking down hardly anything
I need 3 stars, Who do you think you are
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me
I needed some way to vent my Angry Bird steam...This is how it happened to come out =)
And since I am on the subject of Angry Birds...We were in Walmart last night.
Adam finds a randomly placed stuffed Angry Bird..and throws it at a toilet paper display..which does not budge..his response.."the red ones are weak" =)))

"The Great Pancake Massacre"
and so October 7, 2011 became the day of "The Great Pancake Massacre".
Before I go on I would like for the record to show that I DID make pancakes yesterday morning with no problems or complications whatsoever.
-"Anna do you want jelly biscuits for b'fast of pancakes again?"
-"Ughhh. Pancakes, yeah!"
Anna received the first pancake. It was a picture of perfection in the pancake realm, but it just went downhill from there. Her pancake was just the right shade of golden loveliness and as fluffy as your favorite pillow.
The others, however, =/..may they rest in peace.
I poured the batter, flipped at what I thought was the right time...NOPE wrong answer. The next 6 pancakes never had a chance. I'm not sure where the cooking took its turn down the wide path to destruction..but it did most certainly turn.
What was meant to be a nice quiet breakfast with my daughters soon turned into me running around to open all the doors and jumping up and down like a maniac waving a dish towel at the screaming smoke detector. [hey I'm not the only one who's been here]
Needless to say Anna is enjoying her pancake perfection while I sit in a hazy room that reeks of DEFEAT..who knew that DEFEAT smells like smoke that I'm sure will still be lingering when Adam gets home.
I'm wondering how many neighbors heard my smoke detector...after all it went off 4 times.
Oh the days as a stay-at-home mom....I love it!

Some days....smh!
Have you ever found yourself surrounded by chaos...and you think to yourself...or maybe talk to yourself [which my husband pointed out this evening] I do a lot of, "what is happening?"
You can sum up the chaotic-ness of my day with this.
I've found dishes in the toy box...and in the fridge or as Anna says the "a-rator"...I found 2 pair of Anna's big girl panties, Curious George, and a hot wheels car that I'm still not sure of where it came from and how it found it's way into my home much less the refrigerator.
Things like this cause me to shake my head. [smh]
Another thing that caused me to drop my head in disbelief today..My husband asked me to compete in....[wait for it].......The Spartan Run.
It is a 5k that has obstacles such as mud pits, barb wire crawls, scaling walls, and running with buckets of rocks.
Let me set something straight here..I don't run and I don't qualify in any way as a "Spartan".
Second of all who in there RIGHT mind would pay to do this...this torture.
I MIGHT jog a . 5k [please note the decimal in front of that 5]. I would say a . 5k is heart healthy =)

Wow! That's a lot of kids...THAT'S THE DUGGARS!!!
Just a little something I left off of my last blog about my mom conference weekend.
There we were.
Coming back from dinner, ready for Session 2 and kinda flustered from being lost for the 3rd time that day. =)
We took a pit stop for a couple of moms in our group [Kristin and Keisha]
As Melissa P, Melissa E, Sonya and I stood outside waiting for the others we were looking around at the endless and plentiful hallways wondering which way to go. [inside or out ... apparently none of us are great with sense of direction].
Kristy: "Well most people are going that way..That has to be it."
Melissa E: "No, those are kids. Why are they all in red t-shirts?"
Melissa P: "That's the Duggars!"
My husband and I love the Duggars...well I like the Duggars...He LOVES the Duggars.
This was a very exciting moment.
I ran into the bathroom, completely ignoring all the women staring at me as if I am crazy [which I AM NOT]
I then shout.."Kristin! Keisha!...The Duggar's are HERE... they just walked by us."
In a split second leaving no time for wiping or washing hands Kristin dashes out of the restroom shouting.."I'LL JUST USE HAND SANITIZER."
Like I said I like the Duggars but Kristin [ like my husband ] LOVES the Duggar's!
She then loops her arm through Melissa P's and they are off. In kind of a stalker run .. hunched over and giddy.
This is the day that I met the Duggar's.
I spoke with some of the girls, talked to the grand baby, and had my picture made.
I called Adam, who was green with envy...I could sense it through the phone. =)
And thus ends my star struck days. GOOD TIMES ... GOOD TIMES

Be The Sunshine!
Just a side note before I rant for a few paragraphs..I'm thinking of renaming my blog...FLOG [family+blog=FLOG].
Phewww.
What a weekend. It was what you might call a "bipolar weekend".
Friday morning I left behind my family for the first time. On our way for Adam to drop me off my eyes were teary and my heart was confused. I was looking forward to a wonderful weekend of refreshment and worship for my King, but I was already missing my family that I was still in the car with.
I had thoughts like...
The conference was wonderful. I learned so much. We were taught
One mom made the statement it was as if she had watched a Chick Flick all weekend. =)
We were lost SEVERAL times...most of the time.... driving and walking. [good times]
We were on the homestretch and we were all ready to see our families. On the drive home I recieved a phone call that went something like this.
Adam: "Hey babe. Having a good time?"
Me: "Yes. We just ate dinner and are about to be back on the road."
Adam" "Ok. Good. Well I'm on my way to Walmart to get PEDIALYTE."
Yes .. we all know what pedialyte means. Ansley my 9 month old had a stomach virus. It started around 6 that evening and by 1:00 AM I was waking up my 2 year old and loading up in the van for a trip to the ER.
Ansley could keep nothing down and was throwing up some blood. So in my head it was something like this for that whole car ride AHHHHHHHH.
We knew NOONE with this virus so I wasn't sure thats what it was.
They took samples of puke..samples of blood.. and samples of pee.
I tried to hold back the tears as they put in the IV and then carted us away for x-rays.
By this time I had convinced myself ..THIS IS NO VIRUS .. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY BABY GIRL.
So as I held her in my arms on the hospital bed trying to keep her from pulling out her IV [ I was warned by the pleasant nurse that it would be my fault if she did] I prayed. I prayed for my baby and for God to hold us in his arms.
We left the ER at 6 that morning and now Monday afternoon Ansley is finally back to her smiley self. It WAS just a virus but it KICKED HER BUTT.
So as my "bipolar weekend" has come to an end, it is back to life as a stay at home mom. I plan on being an intentinoal mom..a mom with a purpose to shine light on my family and show my girls who God is..why we are here and how to glorify Christ in everything. I'm positive I will fall short of this but I know that God makes great of everything that is His.
....another side note....as I am blogging Anna is now singing "Go to sleep little baby" in SCREAMO. Should I be worried? =)

- HOW WILL THEY MAKE IT WITHOUT ME!?
- Will they miss me as much as I will miss them?
- Will their diapers be changed?
- Will they starve?
The conference was wonderful. I learned so much. We were taught
- Be The Sunshine!
- Just pick up the socks!
- Our highest calling is not motherhood..it is glorifying Christ through motherhood.
- Don't let the busyness get you ... realize what is ACTUALLY important and what is God-centered amongst the busyness.
- Some things HAVE to be left undone for the GREATER thing to be done.
- Teaching our children about Christ isn't as effective as showing them how to live for Christ.
- Oh yes and always wear PRETTY underwear!
